1 Kalki Jayanti commemorates the expected birth date of Lord Kalki in coming future.
2 This day is observed as the future birth anniversary of Lord Kalki who will appear for the total annihilation of evil and the establishment of ‘Dharma.’.
3 According to the Indian scriptures, Lord Kalki’s appearance will take place on the sixth day of Shraavana month in the village of Sambhal.
4 Also spelt Kalkin, Kalki is the tenth avatar and the last incarnation of the Hindu god Vishnu, that is foretold to appear at the end of Kali (Kal) Yuga.
5 The Vaishnavas arrange distinctive Pooja along with other events for worshiping Lord Vishnu. A few followers also consider fasting on this day.
6 There are many temples of Lord Kalki in India, which are flocked by devotees on this day. The festival is observed with great enthusiasm in other Vaishnava temples.
7 In South Indian states, Kalki Jayanthi is celebrated in the Hindu month of Bhadrapada.
